About Me

I am a tenured Associate Professor and Statistician in the School of Computer Science in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Guelph. I have four major research programs that are interdisciplinary and community-engaged, and that span computer science, statistics, public health, pedagogy and andragogy, and natural resource management.

I have worked with government agencies, not-for-profits and charitable organizations, industry, indigenous communities, and a variety of academic partners. And I have trained numerous high quality personnel (HQP) at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral level.

Since 2016, my research programs have been awarded more than $5 million in funding, with more than half of this as Principal Investigator. Additionally, I have helped raise over $1 million in donor contributions to support research, and undergraduate and graduate scholarships.

I was recently named one of Ontario's most outstanding university teachers by the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations.
